# The Basics of Hinata.io

The world’s first Web 3.0 e-commerce hub established by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO).

Hinata DAO is a platform for anime, manga, illustration, and 3D artists with the metaverse in focus. Users can create, buy, and sell ERC-721 and ERC-1155 NFTs.&#x20;

Proceed to our straightforward guides to learn more of the platform's specifics and how to engage with them.

# Using the Marketplace

The place to create, buy, and sell NFTs.

### Accessing the platform

[Hinata.io](https://hinata.io/) is accessible both from desktop and mobile browsers, however the alpha platform is designed for **desktop only**. Mobile support will be offered for the beta release.&#x20;

### Creating an account

All that is required to create an account is a supported Ethereum smart wallet.&#x20;

### Terms of service

In order to use the [Hinata.io marketplace](https://hinata.io/marketplace/listings) all users must sign the current [Terms of Service.](https://hinata.io/terms-and-conditions)

### Making transactions

The alpha version of [Hinata.io](https://hinata.io/) is built to use the Ethereum blockchain for NFTs.

{% hint style="info" %}
All transactions on the Ethereum network require a small amount of Ethereum in order to be processed by miners and added to the blockchain.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

On Ethereum, the term “gas” stands for a unit of measurement for the amount of computational power needed for executing specific operations on the network. As every Ethereum transaction consumes computational resources, each transaction requires a small payment for the work done. The gas is the fee needed to process Ethereum transactions, i.e. transaction cost. To sum up, on our platform, you are offered a free NFT for authenticating, but you need to pay the gas fee for the minting purposes in order to claim your NFT.

All Ethereum fees can only be paid in Ether (ETH), the native currency of Ethereum. ETH Gas prices are denoted in a unit called gwei, which is the denomination of ETH, or in other words, a gwei equals to 0.000000001 ETH. For instance, if your gas fee costs 0.000000001 ether, you can say that it costs 1 gwei.

The gas fees vary depending on your wallet provider regularities, often if you want your transaction to be carried out faster, your fee would be more costly, as faster operations require more gas to power their computation, and vice versa, slower transactions would cost less.

### Supported payments

The alpha version of Hinata.io requires users to list NFTs for wrapped ether, or **WETH**. To wrap and unwrap ETH use [this app](https://app.1inch.io/#/1/swap/ETH/WETH). \
\
Currently, we do not support native ETH listings. Future versions of the marketplace will support native ETH along other ERC-20s.&#x20;

# User Account Types

This page discusses the different user roles on our platform and their corresponding user accounts.

Depending on your user role, you will be assigned a specific account type and a corresponding set of privileges. The roles you can step into on Hinata's platform are the following:

| User Role                                                 | Privileges                                                                                                                     |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| <mark style="color:purple;">**Anonymous**</mark>          | <ol><li>can see public user profiles, </li><li>can see the marketplace listings;</li></ol>                                     |
| <mark style="color:purple;">**Guest User**</mark>         | <ol><li>can create/edit profile, </li><li>can list secondary NFTs as sale or auction types,</li><li>can buy any NFT;</li></ol> |

| <mark style="color:purple;">**Admin**</mark>              | <ol><li>can hide NFTs;</li></ol>                                                                                               |
| <mark style="color:purple;">**Superadmin**</mark>         | <ol><li>can add/remove roles.</li></ol>                                                                                        |

# Primary vs Secondary Sales

There are two types of NFTs on Hinata's marketplace: primary and secondary.\
\
Only **Verified Creator** accounts can list primary and secondary NFTs.\
\
**Guest** and **Authenticated** accounts can list secondary NFTs. \
\
**Anonymous** accounts can view both primary and secondary NFTs, but may not purchase or bid on the listings.&#x20;

# Getting Started

# Connect Your Wallet to Hinata

In order to use the [Hinata.io](https://hinata.io/) NFT marketplace you must own an Ethereum compatible wallet. We support the following Ethereum wallets: MetaMask, Torus, Coinbase, Authereum, and WalletConnect. To read more about setting up your first Ethereum wallet and generating a new address, proceed [here](https://metamask.io/faqs/). <br>

{% hint style="warning" %}
**We cannot provide user support for any Ethereum wallet providers. We will never ask you for your private keys, we won't have access to your wallet password, and we do not have any way to manage your funds.**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### Connecting your wallet

Navigate to Hinata's home page and click the wallet icon on the top right of your screen.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/B1yyVz3v8GDPtA73AgCC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You will be prompted to choose which wallet provider you are using.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/6JQgSx217Akkm08BPG3p" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

For the purpose of this guide, we will illustrate a flow of using MetaMask. You will be required to insert your password when MetaMask pops up on your screen (in case MetaMask is locked).

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/0xcW4XJiNqK1IaAv6qAh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Make sure that your current account is connected to MetaMask. From your MetaMask window, select the account you intend to use. If you don't have one yet, click on "New account" to create one.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/Rj3tbSkKU3JDgOQ3r8tX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click "Next" and then "Connect" to finish up the setting.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/a8A0LpvQ1ZZdlEjEC4tI" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
The above described scenario happens when you are connecting your account to MetaMask for the first time or when your authentication token had expired (after 48 hours). In these cases, you will need to follow the illustrated steps. However, if you have already connected your account and your authentication token is still valid, you can easily switch between your accounts and connect the desired one without any additional steps.
{% endhint %}

Simply select the account you plan to use.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/l9FOfDqeQ0LncCtMgFp7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click the "Not connected" toggle button.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/SrXgFSKEtVjAOOIWZzCZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

And just like that, you've connected your account.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/5EH7nXNpkGwHy9WINjmd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

However, there are a few more steps that you need to complete to finalize the login flow: authentication, validation, and agreeing to our Terms of Service.

### **Authenticating your account**

MetaMask will require you to prove your identity via signing in. That way you can prove ownership of the Etherium address associated with the private key you are using. This is triggered upon action, like if you try to access "My Profile" for example, you'd have to sign in first.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/XOp8ERoicO7bDgGbP4fw" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Hover over the "SIGN IN" button to enable it for clicking. When it changes its color to light blue, it's clickable.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/MK4Zzy0IRxohWubeHW1s" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Validating your account

Immediately after signing in, MetaMask will ask you to sign a message to as a way of verifying that the established identity is valid.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/mBXVIoWp1pjYKVdYdhau" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click the "SIGN" button once it is available for clicking. That initiates another signature request for you.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/v8mREkvgn8Mjb8QbaW2f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Sign it. After a successful signing, you are prompted to continue to our Terms of Service.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
The Sign in/Sign Message prompt is only displayed when your authorization token needs refreshing, so it's never constantly prompted every time you try to execute some action, unless required. The authorization token expires and refreshes every 24 hours for one address. Essentially, the flow described above is not always the case.
{% endhint %}

### Agreeing to Hinata's Terms of Service

Finally, we will ask you to read and agree to our Terms of Service in order to be able to use our site and all it has to offer.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/ipRIhwfXYXkugnF52Kfr" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click the "I agree" box.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/w32q4MWYPXHAo0tH0GpU" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click the "Let's go" button once it is clickable. That will trigger one final signature request.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/n6JGQUp1Tu9Djpl0etBA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Sign it, and with that you are all set.

# Set up Your Hinata Profile

A guide illustrating the steps towards becoming an Authenticated User.

{% hint style="info" %}
So, you have landed on [Hinata.io](https://hinata.io/)'s website for the first time where you can browse the public profiles and scroll the marketplace listings as you get acquainted with the platform. That's all you can do as an **Anonymous User**. When you connect your wallet to Hinata, you gain the status of a **Guest User**, and as such, you can engage in listing and buying NFTs. If you want to experience even more of the privileges that a user can possess on our platform, proceed to completing your user profile. Once you have filled in your profile data, your account gets authenticated in our system. As an **Authenticated User**, you can list secondary NFTs, mint complimentary NFT, and receive listing/sale updates via email if subscribed.
{% endhint %}

### **Authenticating your user profile**

The moment you've connected your wallet to Hinata, you've also created a user profile which happens to be completely empty. You can either keep it that way and maintain your status as a Guest User, or you can complete your profile by inserting the required information and get authenticated in our system.&#x20;

For the second option, click directly on the "Guest User" icon on the top right corner of your screen.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/2yUX8xpnML3cCOwDjmvC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

From the modal that opens, choose to click on "My Profile".

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/ys7vu4Yp2GVdBDCBbj81" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

This action takes you to your profile page where you'd be greeted by a modal informing you that for completing your profile you will be rewarded with an NFT. Click "Complete your profile" to proceed.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/pMQSdkkUfv5nnax3ByNm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Providing your profile data

You can now start filling in the required fields and customize your profile to your liking. Notice how the progress bar is 0% at this point. Enter your information and watch it progressing as you insert the data.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/ljGqdoEP6hzNC3oU0CQf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Start by inserting the following mandatory data:

* <mark style="color:blue;">username</mark> - make sure that you come up with a unique username that hasn't been already taken;
* <mark style="color:blue;">email</mark> - use your current email, e.g.: <asoka@gmail.com>;
* <mark style="color:blue;">bio</mark> - write a specific paragraph that best describes you, counting from 19 to 200 characters.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/6Qt9JismLbQamimgid0W" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You can notice how the Profile completion bar progresses as you add more info. Continue by entering the rest of the mandatory data:

* <mark style="color:blue;">profile picture</mark> - set up a picture (180x180) of your choice via drag and drop or browsing your computer, which can be of gif, png, and/or jpeg type;
* <mark style="color:blue;">banner</mark> - set up a banner (2550x290px) of your choice via drag and drop or browsing your computer also of the gif, png, and/or jpeg type.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/8xQUEHqbTHjaxMhbYGFb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Optionally, you can also connect your profile to any of your other social media profiles. We support links to <mark style="color:yellow;">Instagram,</mark> <mark style="color:yellow;">Discord,</mark> and <mark style="color:yellow;">Twitter</mark> accounts. Users with a portfolio of creative works can also connect to their <mark style="color:yellow;">Pixiv,</mark> <mark style="color:yellow;">Deviantart,</mark> and <mark style="color:yellow;">Artstation</mark> accounts. Additionally, if you run your own <mark style="color:yellow;">personal website,</mark> you can also connect it to your Hinata account.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/QCu8W5tWtjPdWyWxojxk" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Saving your profile

Once you are all set, it's time to save your changes. Hover over the "Save Changes" button to enable it for clicking, and then click. This action triggers your wallet provider to ask for your signature, as a way to verify your identity.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/qTYXywv7ohcKr37vAdoD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You will be notified via pop up for the successfully updated profile.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/fUiGmixgdfRA1icUAWFE" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Finally, you are all set. As a confirmation of your successfully updated profile, you'll find that the progress bar at the top of your screen has reached 100% of completeness.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/WiaZcYfGRPTAqOHU6apV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Notice how the "Guest" profile icon has been replaced with your profile picture now that you've become an Authenticated User.&#x20;

Lastly, navigate to "My Profile" to see the look of your completed profile.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/yza6udU9xl6mtYAkIf0z" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

# Claim Your Free NFT

One cool fact about Hinata is that we reward every new user who authenticates their profile on our platform with a free NFT. You are able to claim your free ERC-1155 NFT either in landscape or portrait aspect ratio, after you've finished setting up your profile.

However, the gas needed for the minting process should be covered by you, so make sure that you already have funds in your wallet before you start the claiming process.

### Claim your free NFT

Once your profile is 100% completed, you'll notice that a "Claim your NFT" button has appeared just under the completion progress bar. Click this button to start minting your very first NFT on our platform.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/1aoOVeYd5cPDpeovTFv2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Next, you get to choose whether you'd like your NFT either in portrait - "Hinata Special" or in landscape orientation - "Hinata Special Widescreen".&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/55hqcFBcyUpb9xf7aNes" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/SHvqacKRW7jJxVgC80yQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Once you have made your choice, simply click the "Mint Now" button. Then your wallet provider will require your signature as a way to verify your account.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/NAP864JxHL6Zj3XtGjCx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Notice how the MetaMask modal displays the ETH balance for the account you are currently using. This is important as you would need to use that balance to pay your gas fee. But first, sign the request.

After signing, the following MetaMask modal displays the amount of gas fee you are supposed to cover. At this point, you can either reject the transaction or confirm it and claim the NFT.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/UIfczfUo78Fzf2xfJZqr" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

For the latter, if the transaction was successful, both MetaMask and Hinata will notify you of it via pop-up.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/WZ1S0guvG3lcJXmQh5nz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Notice how after minting your NFT, the "Claim your NFT" button has disappeared as it served its purpose.

### Find your NFT

You can find your minted NFT on your profile, under "COLLECTED NFTs" section.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/oa8YFXdL8LNYzhBPczSo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

# Creating on Hinata

# How to Become a Verified Creator

Your guidance to becoming a content creator, NFTs seller and NFTs buyer on Hinata's platform.

By now, you have set up and authenticated your Hinata profile, minted your first NFT, maybe you've listed some secondary NFTs for sale, and maybe you've made a purchase yourself. But there's so much more to do on our platform, especially, if you are a talented aspiring artist in search for a space where you can distribute your art. Start exploring the marketplace by listing your very own creations. However, to be entitled to such privileges, first, you must apply and and become a **Verified Creator** on our platform.

The Verified Creator accounts have the ability to:

1. Mint NFTs and
2. Create their own collection contracts on the [Hinata.io marketplace](https://hinata.io/marketplace/listings) which contain newly minted NFTs.&#x20;

### Getting your account verified

In order to start creating, buying, and selling NFTs on our marketplace, you need to get in touch with the Hinata team and apply to become a creator. You can do so by contacting us via our social channels and we will provide you with a link to an application.&#x20;

So, what does a strong creator application look like? We are looking for a few of the following:\
\
1\) Examples of previous work on any web2 or web3 platform\
2\) A community of supporters/subscribers/fans \
3\) Unique creative direction or exceptional talent within your genre\
4\) An interest in creating web3 work in 2D or 3D\
\
After you've submitted your application, please give our team at least a week to review and discuss it with DAO members. Rest assured, if your application is approved, you will receive a prompt notification.

{% hint style="info" %}
Before you can begin experiencing the privileges of a Verified Creator, it is essential to familiarize yourself with our Terms and Conditions and provide your confirmation.
{% endhint %}

Before you can start enjoying the Verified Creator's privileges, you need to get familiar to our Terms and Conditions and confirm to them.

### Create button

You'll know that you have officially become a Verified Creator when the "Create" button appears between your profile picture icon and the "Rewards" button on your home page.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/jIqn3KqMBCkUzjrCS7Or" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

That being said, you can now start enjoying your journey as a Creator in Hinata.

# Create a Collection

Collections are defined as smart contracts which allow creators to mint NFTs, control creator royalties between up to three addresses, and display them within the collection page on [Hinata.io](https://hinata.io/) and other marketplaces. For creators minting their first NFTs, or simply experimenting with our platform, we recommend using the <mark style="color:blue;">**Hinata General Collection**</mark> contract.\
\
NFTs can be minted for free to the General collection, where they will exist alongside the work from other Verified Creators. All sales are subject to 1.5% royalties which are directed to the Hinata Foundation for platform maintenance. Once an item is minted to the General Collection it **cannot be moved to another collection.** \
\
A new collection offers artists a higher degree of freedom when minting and presenting their work. Collections allow users to manage royalties, display information, and more. Creating a new collection can be expensive, as the amount of data and network gas required to deploy a new smart contract that governs the collection is high.&#x20;

### Creating a collection

To begin with, you can create a collection by clicking the "Create" button at [Hinata.io](https://hinata.io/) homepage.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/HXu79aRjq0Avsi5k2NWu" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
Creating an NFT is not necessary to deploy a new collection contract.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

&#x20;This action takes you to the "CREATING YOUR DROP" page.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/2NehBMrht6FNExLxof4j" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Start by adding a picture of PNG, GIF, or WEBP type that will act as the "Logo Image" of your collection. You can think of your logo image as the profile picture of a given social profile. Continue by adding a "Featured Image" of the PNG, GIF, WEBP, MP4, or MP3 type with a maximum of 50 MB. This image will act as the background of your collection.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/TqjxGMrra3JybPf23Exq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Once you've chosen your theme, proceed to name and describe your collection. The name of the collection is limited to 25 characters and its description should contain between 49 and 200 characters. In addition, create a unique URL by adding a name after "collections".

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/JN1oyPhhVB55RAK0LG3d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
Creating your unique URL is necessary as that way you can enable the "Create Collection" button for clicking.
{% endhint %}

As the creator of an NFT, you can receive passive income even after you have sold that NFT. This is achievable via the royalties feature i.e. by assigning the address(es) of collectors in the "ROYALTIES" section, you are creating a smart contract on the blockchain. Whenever a secondary sale (the collectors who bought the NFT from you have sold it to others) happens, the smart contract ensures that the terms are met and the royalties paid. So the royalties are automatic payouts to the Verified Creator made on the marketplace. Using royalties is optional and completely up to you.<br>

{% hint style="info" %}
We cannot enforce creator royalties on other platforms. For example, if you choose to list your collection NFTs on another marketplace, you must manually set royalties within their collection management dashboard.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

Another feature we provide for you is linking your social media to your collection.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/Zcpv1OojtpFbSGXhWONO" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Your collection will be created on the Ethereum blockchain, hence the ETH token is to be used for all transactions.

We also offer the feature of classifying your collection as <mark style="color:red;">"explicit and sensitive content"</mark>. If that is the case, simply enable the toggle button and you're set.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/atWnTx0LNiVPfvJicS3W" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Finally, click ''Create Collection''. This action triggers your wallet provider to ask you to complete a payment transaction. Confirm it.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/R1Y0coczfmu4OIXKA2A9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Your wallet provider will notify you of the successfully executed transaction.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/vBQFs6P3jR119c0yFRF8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Now you have successfully created a New Collection.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Mind you that deploying new collection smart contracts is expensive and can cost more than $100.
{% endhint %}

### Finding your created collection

To access your newly created collection, click on your profile icon, and from the modal that appears choose "My Collections".&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/zh1ySsIPtuQv4w2tUlRi" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Here you can find the collection(s) you have already created.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/cctOTepEOuuByef8nUyK" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click on the collection you have just created to see what it looks like.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/O1Hr5sATLlthlaQbBtFJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Underneath you can find the button <img src="/files/TmiqekKrUuwWmk6FnGBM" alt="" data-size="line"> which allows you to access the social links of your collection.

### Collection limits

There is no limit to the number of collections Verified Creators may deploy. Simply go to the "Create" button at your homepage to create more collections.

# Add a New NFT to Your Collection

By now, you are a proud owner of at least one collection. To add a new NFT to that collection, first, make sure that you are logged in with your profile on [HInata.io](https://hinata.io/), and then click the "Create" button on the homepage.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/HXu79aRjq0Avsi5k2NWu" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

This action takes you to the "CREATING YOUR DROP" page.

{% hint style="info" %}
The term "drop" refers to the first time an item is sold on the marketplace by a Verified Creator.
{% endhint %}

### Creating your new NFT

This is the page where you can start creating your NFT. From there, the first step to providing all information necessary to mint an NFT is uploading the artwork. We support files of PNG, GIF, WEBP, MP4, and MP3 types with a maximum of 50 MB. Secondly, you'll need to upload a file of either the PNG or GIF type that will act as the thumbnail for your NFT. On your right, you can see a preview of how your NFT will look with the thumbnail and its name and price displayed.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/QCRyK4TXPqUX5zz6qdOg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
Choose carefully, because this will represent your artwork when it is viewed on the marketplace or in user profiles.
{% endhint %}

The third step involves naming your NFT and inserting the number of NFTs you are planning to include in this drop. We support a maximum number of 9,999 NFTs within a single drop. Step 4: Describing your NFT (49-200 characters);

{% hint style="info" %}
If you are minting more than one copy, the token will be generated using the ERC-1155 standard. Single copies are created as unique ERC-721 tokens. To read more on the difference between the two, take a look [here](https://www.web3.university/article/comparing-erc-721-to-erc-1155).
{% endhint %}

The fourth step requires describing your NFT. You can include any information necessary in no more than 200 characters.

The fifth step requires you to select from the dropdown the collection you plan to add this NFT to.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/PDpbLhKZxbcHfhEkrlV4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Minting your NFT

You can now mint your NFT simply by clicking the (now) enabled 'MINT" button. A "Minting in Progress" modal is displayed on your screen, showing you are half-way done just by clicking the "MINT" button. Amid minting, your wallet provider would ask you to pay for the gas needed for minting. Confirm it to complete the minting.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/Ya3Bjj9BLqBMADw3LEML" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After the transaction is confirmed and carried out, you'd be notified via a pop-up, and the "Minting in Progress" modal would show 100% completed minting.&#x20;

Below the progress bar, the modal is giving you 2 options:&#x20;

1. asking you if you would like to **view your NFT**
2. asking you if you would like to **choose the listing format**.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/px1KlmE1pdiIPQOhHZZY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### View your NFT

After clicking "View NFT" you can see a preview of your newly created NFT with its name displayed right underneath, together with the options to copy the URL, make the NFT one of your favorites, and the option to expand the image fully on your screen.

Information under the "Info" tab includes the creator's address, owner, the name of the collection it belongs to, its description, the contract address, the token standard (ERC1155), fees and royalties (if included), token ID, blockchain, and the number of NFTs you own out of the total.

<figure><img src="/files/g5RfIGAB9VKVWZb2b9nC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The "Trade" tab on the top left allows you to list the NFT for either sale or auction. You can read more on this in [List an NFT for Purchase](/trading-on-hinata/list-an-nft-for-purchase).

You should find the newly minted NFT added to your collection as illustrated below:

# Trading on Hinata

# Buy an NFT from the Marketplace

All **Guest**, **Authenticated,** and **Verified Creator** accounts can purchase any NFT listed for primary or secondary sale. Make sure you have **enough wrapped ETH (WETH)** in your wallet so that you can trade and make transactions there.&#x20;

### Log in with your account

To begin with, simply log in with your Hinata account.&#x20;

### Search the marketplace

Start looking around the marketplace to find the NFT of your interest. Hinata supports browsing by Listings, Collections, and Creators.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/yzivGJfIOGvpliMMn6pA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Find the NFT you want to purchase

Once you've found it, click on it. This action takes you directly to the Trade tab, where you can see the sale duration counter, price, and quantity, as well as the enabled <img src="/files/y1eVy2bLi6fX9A49jL2I" alt="" data-size="line">button. Go to Info tab if you want to see the rest of the info before buying the NFT.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/wdil9ITF3dXwGn0cV2h4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Buy the NFT

To start the process of buying the NFT, click the <img src="/files/8xDn2iRfMe7J08iVjkxh" alt="" data-size="line"> button. This action triggers a contract approval request. As you know, for any contract to access your funds or assets, it needs permissions to use them. In this case, the marketplace contract needs to be approved in order to take your funds (for the purchase), and then you get the NFT as a result.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
The contract can never take your cash without you allowing it to do that.
{% endhint %}

Since the marketplace uses WETH (Wrapped ETH), you will have to swap your ETH for WETH. Proceed [here](https://app.uniswap.org/#/swap?chain=mainnet) to do that. If you want to get ETH back, only "unwrap" it.

Once that is taken care of, and you've pasted in your WETH/token address proceed to confirm the approval.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/P6jsoEYmES9vOIk42V3k" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After confirming it, you'd be notified of the successful confirmation.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/wUyN25V5uXK3LMKqYl7Q" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Finally, you'd be notified via pop-up(s) of the successful transaction and purchase along with a success message displayed on the Trade tab.

### Find your NFT

Simply navigate to "COLLECTED NFTs" section via clicking on "MY PROFILE" and find your newly acquired NFT there.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/qR9D6HBN7LnZ5GnIS3hc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Bid on an NFT

While looking around the marketplace, an NFT set for auction catches your attention and you wish to bid on it.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/9XJVS8saKpEWjUjclXjW" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Simply click on the NFT and enter an amount you can afford (that matches your funds) and isn't lower than the denoted starting price. Once that's done, click <img src="/files/bWNzNvSjs7fKNzOwJhhw" alt="" data-size="line">.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/AJ8xcgbAz9GTUowYMTKt" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

To process the bid, your wallet provider needs your confirmation to access your funds. Confirm it.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/jw9ZFibePsWViJsQoAYD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You'd be notified of the successfully confirmed transaction via pop-up from your wallet provider.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/KpiFQNv34HvXUbDKctDg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Users who bid on a given NFT, would be listed under the NFT's Trade tab. Therefore, you can now find your name listed under the Mai's Trade tab.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/L6j4HP8s53n1WGvhllgf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Not having enough balance to purchase the NFT of your choice

On the other hand, if the NFT of your interest is too expensive and you don't have enough balance (W/ETH) to purchase it, the following will happen:

* The "Buy Now" button will be inactive;
* The message "Insufficient balance to buy this NFT." appears when you hover over the "Buy Now" button.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/LgGp5U0HBrHzgOuoQICF" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# List an NFT for Purchase

As a Verified Creator, you have learned how to create collections on our platform, but your journey is incomplete until you learn how to distribute your creations on the marketplace. For that reason, proceed to read the guide.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only **Verified Creators** can list primary drops from collections created on the Hinata platform. All the **Guest** and **Authenticated** accounts can list drops on the secondary market for resale from both - the Hinata created collections and external whitelisted collections.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

There are 2 paths that lead you to listing your NFT for purchase:

1. Immediately after the NFT is created

After you have successfully created an NFT, you can list it for either sale or auction on our marketplace. If you have just created a new drop, you will have an option to "CHOOSE LISTING FORMAT" for purchase.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/wnEaLNS6NpgX3saAOA70" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

&#x20;2\. Accessing previously created NFT&#x20;

If you are listing the NFT from within your user profile (accessing the NFT from your collection), first click on the item, and then navigate to the Trade tab within the popup.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/l12sDtnuQ5WtbHgf4CvI" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="warning" %}
NFTs cannot be delisted or canceled until the sale or auction duration has ended.
{% endhint %}

### Purchase types

Clicking the "CHOOSE THE LISTING FORMAT" button takes you deciding between two purchase types:

* <mark style="color:purple;">Sale</mark>&#x20;
* <mark style="color:purple;">Auction.</mark>

A **sale** consists of a fixed price with limited inventory, available for a specific amount of time.&#x20;

An **auction** requires a starting and reserve price which must be met or exceeded by the end of the auction duration. The reserve price is the minimum bid in order for the smart contract to determine the winner.&#x20;

### Selling an NFT

If you decided to choose "Sale", click on it.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/HVknR95JHx8c2fiC451z" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
You can place your NFT as a Gasless Listing.
{% endhint %}

Before you move on, you need to confirm your selection.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/xPWcFjEN84ddmE16YZcZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Your confirmation leads to setting the rest of the options regarding the sale.&#x20;

Start by setting the sale's <mark style="color:purple;">start date</mark> by clicking the calendar icon or dropdown, so that a calendar displays on your screen to choose from. Continue by setting the <mark style="color:purple;">sale duration</mark> from the dropdown (which can last 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 1 month, or 3 months). Next, set the <mark style="color:purple;">quantity</mark> or the number of NFTs you are selling. Finish up with setting the <mark style="color:purple;">price</mark> of the NFT.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/VRk6PKB6hL9Fnv1HZS6I" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Once you are all set, click ![](/files/zBKXQ5PipTcyUEZqbB4i). Your wallet provider will ask for transaction fee confirmation for this action.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/HXPPPDHXolcOvs0LEbK1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After you've confirmed it, you are notified of the confirmed and successfully carried out the transaction.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/p3eeYxG0pNGKryqo9P0J" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Then you are required to cover the gas fee.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/dnJP1X4SX8zGmDKtKaHj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Once that's carried out, you'd be notified of the transaction confirmation via one pop up, and of the successfully created listing via another. Also, a modal for successful listing will be displayed on your screen giving you the option to view your listed NFT.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/z75dA1uCYTGFARlmbiqD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

This is what your NFT looks like under the Info tab:

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/IRP23AmGtzzfQPVUZz2I" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

And this is what your NFT looks like under the Trade tab:

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/c30w4QhLF9VI5LIfFVgs" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

In addition, you can edit and cancel the listing anytime you want to, until the expiration date.

Your newly listed NFT should now appear under the "Listings" section on your profile.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/Si7WZJuusVTVdXxpM4jA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Finally, you can now visit the marketplace, by clicking <img src="/files/OuhD0tnq5MHSfRWN2Cv9" alt="" data-size="line">, and finding your NFT listed there.&#x20;

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/iSQHM1R3h2A9xcmKZcPz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Auctioning an NFT

If, on the other hand, you decided to choose "Auction", click on it.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/fjOZKky0HQaqH1kKtIDS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
You can place your NFT as a Gasless Listing.
{% endhint %}

Again, you need to confirm your selection.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/fel4j8A9TCqqrPMVstHd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Your confirmation leads to setting the rest of the options regarding the auction.&#x20;

Start by setting the auction's <mark style="color:purple;">start date,</mark> via clicking the calendar icon or dropdown, and from the calendar that displays on your screen choose and confirm your settings. Continue by setting the auction <mark style="color:purple;">duration</mark> (which can last 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, or 6 months) from the dropdown. Finish up with setting the <mark style="color:purple;">starting</mark> and <mark style="color:purple;">reserve</mark> <mark style="color:purple;">price</mark> of the NFT and the <mark style="color:purple;">quantity</mark> or number of NFTs you are selling. &#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
A good starting price is 1 ETH, and a good reserve price can be 5 ETH. The NFT can receive bids at any price above 1. If the auction timer ends with the highest bid below 5 ETH, the auction will be canceled and returned to you. For the last 10 minutes of the auction, any new offer above the reserve price extends the timer another 10 minutes until there are no more bids.
{% endhint %}

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/Aue8Yq3C5VAnZbicuzer" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Once you are all set, click ![](/files/lUFzCjEdn6bPN6yzJDDB). Your wallet provider would ask for transaction confirmation for this action.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/Bv9Gp4zRJnV0C0XAA1bq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After confirming, you'd be notified of the transaction confirmation and the successfully created listing via pop-up(s). A modal for successful listing will also be displayed on your screen giving you the option to view your listed NFT.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/HzqGZWghys2zVqhcGIEM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Click <img src="/files/nCDHHJgyhOVnEVdUm73c" alt="" data-size="line"> to find it under "LISTINGS".

# Creator Royalties and Platform Fees

All transactions are subject to <mark style="color:purple;">creator royalties</mark> and <mark style="color:purple;">platform fees</mark> which are subtracted from the transaction amount. Platform fees for Hinata.io are currently set to 0%. Creator royalties for all collections deployed using the Hinata platform are decided at the time of contract creation. For the launch of the alpha, all creator royalties for external whitelisted collections are based upon current OpenSea collection settings.&#x20;

### Creator royalties

Creator royalties for individual collections can be set to a maximum of 98.5% of the transaction amount and split between three Ethereum addresses.&#x20;

{% hint style="danger" %}
Note that setting collection royalties above 10% may discourage owners from listing NFTs on the secondary market.
{% endhint %}

Sales royalties are distributed at the time of purchase by marketplace contracts and are not subject to escrow.&#x20;

### Platform fees

Currently, Hinata.io is not charging any platform fee for primary and secondary NFT sales. In the future, fees will be capped at 1.5% and subject to a sliding scale based on account type, marketplace participation, and other factors.&#x20;

# Rewards on Hinata

# EXP Program

A comprehensive overview of the airdrop, EXP points, and staking features available on the Hinata platform.

In this guide, we will explore various ways to earn EXP points by engaging in activities such as listing NFTs and generating trading volume, and how these points can be converted into valuable rewards.

{% hint style="info" %}
One of the ways to earn EXP points is through airdrops, where users are motivated to participate on the platform by the promise of tokens. By taking actions and accumulating EXP points, users can ultimately convert them into Hinata tokens, which serve as rewards for their engagement.
{% endhint %}

Hinata has had two seasons thus far, with Season 2 currently ongoing and Season 1 concluded. During Season 1, users had the opportunity to earn EXP points by listing NFTs on the platform.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/D3PZOkWQ6vdhUKATOldj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

When it comes to listing NFTs, each tier offers a different amount of experience points, akin to leveling up in gaming. For example, listing an NFT in Tier 3 grants you 10 EXP points, Tier 2 offers 30 EXP points, and Tier 1 awards 50 EXP points. It's worth noting that listing NFTs for sale is sufficient to earn EXP points; actual sales are not required.

<figure><img src="/files/fSqDZbFwQmG1zSi6G995" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Furthermore, users can also earn EXP points based on their trading volume. For every 0.005 ETH in volume generated through listed NFTs, users are rewarded with EXP points. This incentivizes users to actively participate on the platform and contribute to its overall trading activity.

### The role of a Verified Creator vs the role of an Authenticated User

There are distinct differences between Verified Creators (VC) and authenticated users in terms of earning EXP points. Verified Creators have the additional opportunity to earn EXP points by minting NFTs. To become a Verified Creator, users need to obtain the Verified Creator role, which grants them specific privileges. Whenever a Verified Creator mints an NFT, they receive 100 EXP points. Additionally, they earn 50 EXP points for each NFT they list, with a limit of one listing per day for NFTs they created. The trading volume EXP points for Verified Creators are also adjusted, with a ratio of 1 EXP point for every 0.01 or 0.001 ETH traded, depending on the specific terms.

By participating in these actions and earning EXP points, users can actively take part in the Hinata platform and unlock various rewards. It's an exciting opportunity to grow and prosper on the platform.

# Leaderboard

Leaderboards are a prominent feature on the platform that showcases the number of EXP points accumulated by each user. The primary objective behind this functionality is to foster a sense of healthy competition among users.

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/LSs1nGSihQHfMyUT3Snd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

<div data-full-width="true"><figure><img src="/files/4aQ5cEkZnMF1k3GaOy2t" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

# Claim & Stake

During Season 1, users were unable to earn additional EXP points. At the conclusion of this stage, if a user has accumulated 3500 EXP points, their points will be converted at a ratio of 3 to 1. This means that for every EXP point earned, they will receive 3 Hinata tokens. To claim these rewards, users can navigate to the "Claim and Stake" page and simply click the "Claim Rewards" button. This section primarily focuses on claiming the trading rewards from the respective season in which the user was active.

### Claim Vesting Rewards

This section is designed for individuals who have invested in the company and had tokens locked up for a specific vesting period. Here, users can claim the tokens that have become unlocked at the end of the vesting period. The balance displayed reflects the amount of tokens available for unlocking at each vesting period. Users can claim these tokens by signing a transaction, and the process is as straightforward as that.

### Stake and Unstake

In this section, users have the opportunity to stake their Hinata tokens to earn a certain amount of yield. The staking process is simple and commonly used. Users can enter the desired amount of tokens they wish to stake. For instance, if there are currently 369 tokens in their wallet, they can input this amount. Additionally, users can choose the time period for which they want to stake their tokens, as it affects the lock-up period and potential yield. By staking tokens, users are essentially depositing their funds into the protocol and receiving tokens in return for locking them up.

The APY (Annual Percentage Yield) represents the rate at which users earn tokens. For example, if the APY is 195.40%, it means that by the end of the year, users would have earned approximately 195.40% of the initially staked amount, resulting in nearly 6000 tokens.

Users can also see their positions in this section. Each stake made for 3 months, 6 months, or a year is treated as a separate position. It is important to note that subsequent stakes do not add to an existing position but rather create new ones.

### Compounding

Compounding refers to the process of reinvesting all the tokens earned over time into the underlying amount. For example, if users initially staked 2000 tokens and earned an additional 23 tokens, compounding would entail reinvesting those 23 tokens into the underlying amount (resulting in 2023 tokens). This allows users to earn more tokens as time progresses. However, users have the choice to either claim these tokens immediately or opt for automatic reinvestment. The decision to reinvest or claim depends on the user's risk assessment and preferences.

### Summary

In summary, users can stake their tokens and select the desired lock-up period (3 months, 8 months, or a year), considering that longer lock-up periods generally result in higher yields. Below the stake options, a table displays all the different positions users have staked. If users choose to compound, any tokens earned are automatically reinvested. The Rewards section, located below the positions table, allows users to claim their rewards at any time, regardless of how many accrued rewards are there which hadn't been immediately reinvested.
